November 10, 2010 Holiday – First Shout for Independence in Panama

The start of the Panamanian independence is considered to have begun on November 10, 1821 when the town Los Santos lifted the Panama population against the Spanish rule. The head of this rebellion for freedom was a 22-year-old lady named Rufina Alfaro, who has become the symbol of national independence. The First Shout for freedom in Panama is widely celebrated throughout the country with big parades and demonstrations.
