November 15, 2010 Holiday – Republic Day in Brazil

On November 15 people in Brazil celebrate Republic Day. On this day in 1889 Field Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca organised a military putsch, dethroned Emperor Pedro II, declared Brazil a republic, and reorganized the government in the country.
