December 23, 2010 Holiday – Emperor’s Birthday in Japan

Emperor’s Birthday is a national holiday annualy celebrated in Japan om December, 23. On this day a public ceremony takes place in Tokyo and includes banners, flags, well wishes, and a special address by the Emperor to people. The event is also traditionally observed by the entire imperial family who wave back at crowds from the window of their residence in Tokyo.
