February 17, 2011 Holiday – Lantern Festival in China

The Lantern Festival is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month of the Chinese calendar and is considered to be one of the most favoroite holidays in China. The Lantern Festival is celebrated on the first night of the full moon after Chinese New Year and it marks the end of the New Year holiday period in China. During this festival Chinese enjoy the full moon, beautiful lanterns, fireworks and festive performances with folk dances held in the streets.
