April 6, 2011 Holiday – Charki Day in Thailand

Chakri Day is a national holiday in Thailand that commemorates the contribution of the kings of Chakri dynasty, who have been ruling the country since 1782. On this day people are led in ceremonies by the 9th king of the dynasty Bhumibol Adulyadej and members of the royal family, who take part in a religious ceremony to pay respects to the former rules of the country.
