October 25, 2011 Holiday – Retrocession Day in Taiwan

Retrocession Day is a public holiday in Taiwan which commemorates the end of the 50 years Japanese rule in the country which ended on October 25, 1945. To mark the significance of the event people hold various memorial patriotic activities and hang a national flag outside homes.
