October 26, 2011 Holiday – Diwali in India

Diwali is an important widely celebrated holiday among Hindu population in India as well as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New ZealandTrinidad and Tobago, Canada, UK, USA and other countries. Diwali is usually observed for 5 days, and the third day called Festival of lights or Diwali is considered to be the main. On this day people gather together with family members and friends, have a festive meal, light up candles all around the house, enjoy firework displays and exchange sweet Diwali gifts.
