April 25, 2012 Holiday – Anzac Day in Australia & New Zealand

Anzac Day is a national holiday widely celebrated in Australia, New Zealand, as well as some other places (Cook Islands, Tonga, etc.) on April, 25 to honor brave members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli, Turkey during the World War I. Nowadays all those who took part in the military actions defending their country are remembered on this day. Parades, marches, memorial and church services are held throughout the countries to mark the event.
